How do you plan for an unknown threat? That's the question Smartstax sought to ask farmers. Corn Rootworm can be devastating to crops but changes in population from year to year. One year they can be nonexistent, but a huge problem the next - with little indication in the lead up. This campaign was designed to inform farmers on how to watch for the signs of corn rootworm as well as promote Smartstax, a seed treatment that tackles corn rootworm, but only if you plan ahead.

Scout and win

As part of the campaign Smartstax would send farmers sticky traps and instructions on how to use them to scout for corn rootworm. Alongside were social media, microsite, and a video series that talked to expert agronomists. Farmers shared proof of scouting and could enter prize giveaways for participating.

Armed with information

The best way to make a decision is to be informed. Rather than just say buy this product, the team wanted to create a more educational campaign that would inform decision making for years to come.
